A little bit about me!

I grew up in the bustling streets of Chandigarh and always knew I had a passion for arts and creativity. I am currently living and working on the unceded territories of the Kwantlen, Katzie, and Semiahmoo people, otherwise referred to as Surrey. I am a mother of three wonderful, strong, feminist daughters.

Most of all, I am looking forward to sharing my kitchen and food expertise with you. In the kitchen, I have seen friendships, creativity, and cultural exchange cultivated along with the delicious heartwarming food. Alongside teaching, I love learning, especially while I travel. Food is a way for me to meet new people and hear about the stories that connect them to their cultures and unique flavourful experiences. I enjoy sharing stories from people while cooking it teaches me a lot about their countries and heritage.

I enjoy both learning and teaching and feel like the process of doing this with others allows me to celebrate my culture and heritage while exploring new spices and recipes. I teach cooking at the City of Surrey as well as private lessons and have been managing the kitchen at summer camps for the past 5 years.

I am Neelu, and I hope to share a little piece of my kitchen with you.
